''Latinas Al Natural''
Airdate: May 5, 2004
Internationally syndicated news program airing in approximately 23 countries

''In New York City a photo exhibit is giving people a lot to talk about. It is the brainchild of a Puerto Rican photographer who chose to represent the Latina woman in all of her splendor and in the nude.

Without any fear, over 100 Latina women in New York accepted the challenge to pose in the nude for the photographer Shirley Miranda-Rodriguez without caring about their extra pounds, their age, or their social status. They bared it all to be part of the LatiNatural collection.

''Many of the people were a bit scared to show parts of their bodies they felt insecure about: cellulite or perhaps their breast which many may have felt were too small, too large or hung too low for their own taste. But these are features that are natural in women" says Shirley Miranda-Rodriguez.

These women are executives at companies, housewives, grandmothers, activists, single mothers, dancers, domestic workers; women of all walks of life willing to immortalize with their bodies and the beauty of the Latina without having to look like a runway model.

The LatiNatural exhibit has caused quite a stir. This is the first time ever that a photographer succeeds in convincing so many Hispanic women to leave behind their fears and disrobe; without caring that their bodies might be judged, so that through the camera they are transformed into art.''
